SO BUSY LATELY GUYS!
Here is a photo that I did for my Photographic Technology class. Shot on black and white 35mm film, and has been developed in a darkroom by myself.
Lots of work. I decided to write a blog post about this experience so check it out if you like! :)

Doing an awesome self-portrait shoot tomorrow, I'll have it up for you guys on Monday! :D

Going places. [300/365]

Going places. [300/365]

HELLO! Did you miss me? I missed you! It's been freaking FOREVER since I posted! I was hoping to have this posted at least the first week of January, but then I realized that my class is having an exhibition the first week of February, and this will be the photo I'll be using, so I worked extra hard on it!
I got lots of feedback before I posted online from my classmates (something I don't usually do) and I tweaked it lots, and I'm so happy with it. This is definitely the most time I have spent on a photo, hours and hours… Once I was finished this photo it had over 80 layers, yikes! Be sure to look at the before photo in comments by the way :)

On another note, YAY 300!!! I'm hoping to be posting more since I won't be spending all my time editing this damn photo!! haha, but for real, I've been so busy. This semester is a lot more busy then last, actually having class until 5pm rather than getting out everyday at like 12. But, it's good! I like to be busy! :)
Let me know what you guys think! :) Oh, and I will update this soon with a link from my blog that I'm about to write my first post in :) Yay!

facebook | twitter | BLOG!!!! <first blog post ever! not completely done customizing everything yet, but yay!!!!

Sitting on my dreams. [299/365]

Sitting on my dreams. [299/365]

Here it is guys, the long awaited "announcement" photo.
Basically, I have some huge awesome fantastic news to share with you all. I've never ever been so excited about anything. I apologize for holding off for so long but I just had to listen to the man in charge ;). Okay, here we go.

You know how this Summer I was planning on staying in Calgary? Well, not anymore! Because this Summer I'm going to leave Canada and go to CHICAGO! I'm going to Chicago for the whole summer guys! Like 4 months! :)
So, why the hell am I going here? I'm going to Chicago to WORK for my favourite photographer Aaron Nace. If you don't know who Aaron Nace is, he's my biggest inspiration. He's the man who made me want to incorporate photoshop into my work, he's the man that inspired me to do the best work that I can do. Aaron Nace is also the creator of PHLEARN, which is a website dedicated to helping people with photography and photoshop. They post a video every single day of the week (Monday-Friday) helping others with tips and tricks of photography and photoshop.

SO, that's it guys! I'm going to work with Phlearn over the Summer, and I will be managing two of the summer interns that are coming down as well.
:D:D:D:D:D:D I AM SO DAMN EXCITED!!!!!!!!! So glad I have that off my chest, and just writing about it makes me so happy! Ah ha! So there you go people!! Have a good weekend!!! :D

Skull work. [298/365]

Skull work. [298/365]

Hi Everyone! I posted on my facebook fan page quite a few hours ago letting everyone know I had a photo to upload tonight, as well as another photo tomorrow to go with my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT that I'm super pumped to tell everyone about :)
Sorry about this photo taking like…4 hours since I posted the status for this to get up here, it's not because this photo took 4 hours to edit, in fact it took about an hour and a half, it's just tonight when I was shooting pictures in my room I was shooting for 3 different concepts in mind, and I tried all 3 and none of them worked out AT ALL. So then I pulled one of the photos that I took into photoshop and I started to work on a totally new concept/idea and this is what I got, you can see the color version in comments (and without the skullness).
Although I'm very much aware this isn't the most amazing thing in the world, but I'm proud of it! I managed to get something out of my shoot tonight that I was pleased with AND all the skull make up you see was done by hand in photoshop with the brush tool so YAY ME :)
K, well goodnight! I'll be posting again tomorrow with newsssssss *weeeeee :)

In the cellar. [297/365]

In the cellar. [297/365]

Since I moved into this new apartment and explored, I saw this storage room behind the washer and dryer. Once I was finished looking around I knew straight away that I wanted to take a photo back here. Maybe I'll call this try number one, because well, I'm not 100% happy with the outcome of it, but from what this picture looked like from the start of it, it came a long way.

I wanted to make it a point to post today, because well- today is the last day of 2011..and I was hoping to post tomorrow with some amazing news (that I've been dying to tell you all about) but turns out I have to hold off for about another week. Sorry to tease you all! haha, but I gotta listen to the boss ;)
Today for most people who started a 365 days a project a year ago is on their last photo today, I would be too if I wasn't put so behind by moving across the country, and then moving again so close to Christmas. As well as schoolwork, etc… So, I'll be finishing up my 365 days sometime in March, so until then, I do just want to say thank you to everyone for all of your support. In 2011 I have grown so much as a person (emotionally, mentally) and as a photographer. My skills have grown and so has my knowledge, and without all of your support this may not have happened. Thank you for always being there people! I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve celebration tonight, and Happy New Year to everyone. :) We'll be going to Red Deer tonight for New Years, first time I've ever been there..I'll have to bring my camera!! ;);)

Also, tell me! What's your new years resolution?
My new years resolution is relatively simple. Just keep up my work in and out of the classroom, and to start a blog! I have flickr, I have facebook, I have twitter
, but I don't really have a blog where I can put everything! So, I will link that to you guys next year (next week I should say haha!) so you can all follow along :)
