Current work in progress, Click photo for details!

I am currently working on a new film photography series named "Think outside the box." It is an all film photography series developed by me in the darkroom. The goal of my series is to expand the traditional views of a rectangular photo by printing images in different shapes like triangles and squares. My subject matter is graffiti, and as my way of expanding the frame 'outside the box' the plan is to expand the frame with spray paint from the shape outward. Some of the graffiti might look familiar because I am actually using some of the graffiti I shot independently at Woodward last summer! I chose graffiti as my subject because I love the rawness of graffiti, and how it compares with my love of film photography. As I went hunting for graffiti, it dawned on me that graffiti is art at its purest. Graffiti artist don't do what they do for glorification--in fact, half of the art that I photographed wasn't even tagged or credited. They do graffiti because it's what they love. Its an feeling or emotion that they need to communicate to whoever will take the time to really look and really understand; and, that at the very core of it, is the exact reason why I love photography. That's the reason why I do what I do.
