Stuck in a tree!

Stuck in a tree!

1 x hole in tree = perfect photographic framing!

As you can see Thomas found it very amusing :)

I need to photograph more of Thomas - his freckles are getting a lot of attention from previous images!

Urwald - Sababurg

Urwald - Sababurg

Last weekend my family and I visited a small village called Sababurg ..

Sababurg is home to an old castle which is situated on an old Fairy Tale Route that splits Germany - The 650-year old castle was where Sleeping Beauty slept for 100 years before that famous kiss saved her. Unfortunately for us admission to the Castle and Castle grounds was not possible, hopefully a return trip in 1 or 2 months time will allow us access to see more..

However the surrounding area offers a little bit more than just an old castle, a large forest is home to some extremely old trees that makes for a fascinating walk..

The tree you see above was at the start of our route - not over interesting but I loved the colour and separation - the branch that appears top right of the frame is a little annoying but until we revisit it will have to do..

Stranger #09

Stranger #09

I know I know! It's been a while but I've been working on 2 new websites - now a third for our local Skate Boarding community and needed to get it done soonest - Paderborn is hosting the World Freestyle Championships after all! Check it out Here

Here we have stranger number #09 - Same day as my previous shots - While walking along the pavement we spotted this alley and I knew I had to take a shot using it as my back drop. This guy was standing close by watching the carnival go by, I asked him kindly if I could take his photo - after explaining the reasons why he agreed..

Still have many more to process and a few from recent outings - I have to leave shorter gaps between posting because I forget the story behind the image!

Nope she's not in fancy dress, this is an actual German Female Police officer! She made me smile 100 meters away and I knew I had to ask her!

I think a police officer is more approachable than your average person and therefore I did not think twice about asking to take her picture. She was walking with her fellow colleague and I changed direction and headed directly to them. I popped the question straight out and she said yes - but then hesitated and told me that she preferred a photo with her partner - I said "No Way" I need to photograph yourself and explained why - she blushed and agreed..

While taking a couple of shot's we got interrupted by a young lady, first question she asked "are you the real police" to which I replied "I hope so because she's carrying a real pistol" Doh...
