Winter Landscape

Didn't put a lot of effort into this one. I had planned to trace the shadow of a tree on the ice with mud but the sun wouldn't cooperate. I tried using a branch but the shadow was to blurred and out of focus. Now the ice is gone so I'll have to try it some other way. This is for the Land art connections theme "trees" I used the roots of a tree to resemble a full size tree at a smaller scale. I used bark to create a hill. I like how the ice looks like a grey winter sky.

I love this image! Very imaginative and effective! I'll try to be inspired instead of just feeling woefully uncreative as of late... this helps!

I liked this better before I knew what it was . . .
not that I don't like it now, but the mystery has dissolved.
      a catch 22 ... I want to know, but then I don't : \
      such an interesting image.

carvermon, I hope I inspired you to create something!

Ken, I know what you mean. Sometimes it's nice to not know, but curiosity killed the cat ya know!

I really like this. Reminds me a bit of that weird, scratchy looking animated beer ad that was on British Tv a few years back "Beware the Judder man"
