Taken a while back, but recently edited up. Used the infra red effect in elements, then a levels adjustment layer.

Blue flowers!

Blue flowers!

Some lovely blue flowers, not sure what they are called! Does Anyone know?

Real reason for shooting was to test out my new lens, a Vivitar Series 1, 70-210mm, f/3.5. I have version 2, made by Tokina in 1983 I believe. More info on the whole series 1 70-210 is available from this website if you are interested:

Anyway, It took me a while to realise just how precise you have to be with the manual focus - I thought I had picked up a dud at first! But once you take your time, this has proved to be a great new lens. Very contrasty and sharp, and also has some lovely bokeh. Using these great optics which I picked up for so cheap made me realise just how much some people are willing to pay to be lazy, as essentially you are paying hundreds of pounds extra for autofocus and auto exposure!

Christmas Angel

Christmas Angel

Merry Christmas everybody! At least from my new 50mm f/1.8 series E. While its old, and entirely manual, its sharper than the knife I used to cut the turkey, brighter than my fairy lights, and cheaper than any other lens on the market! And tiny on my camera too! I have finally got a fast prime! Whoop!

But beyond the presents (and new lens!), this angel represents a messenger, who came to us proclaiming that Jesus has come to earth to die for us, in order to reconcile us to God. I hope that this will be the real message of Christmas for you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!
