Remembering youth - Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Remembering youth - Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Luxembourg

I meant to post this ages ago when the fair was still on and going strong but forgot about it. If I remember correctly that day I mostly wanted to shoot timelapses. This single shot, however, came out better than any of the timelapses I did that day...

An old man and his son wait for a ride to start during the blue hour on a warm evening at the Schueberfouer in Luxembourg's city center.

Minimal San Francisco - San Francisco, California CA, USA

Minimal San Francisco - San Francisco, California CA, USA

Wow! It's been a while since I posted something on flickr. I have to admit I haven't been very pleased with my recent scapes shots but got more into shooting bands which isn't a bad thing either. More on that on my website which is linked below.

Either way, here's one I took on a foggy day when on holiday around California (don't pay attention to the time reference in the EXIF, the clock was left on GMT+1 as I forgot to change it).
Hope you enjoy it!

Electric Ducks - Food For Your Senses, Tuntange, Luxembourg

Electric Ducks - Food For Your Senses, Tuntange, Luxembourg

I've been away from flickr for nearly a month now, just been dissatisfied with the landscapes I've been shooting recently as well as what I found in the archive so here's something a little different from my usual posts. Will get back to the landscape / seascape / cityscape posts eventually though ;)

This was taken at Food For Your Senses festival last weekend, was supposed to get a press pass but in the end it didn't fall through. Better luck next time hopefully.

For those interested there are more pictures from the festival, other events and much more on my website.

Also I've gotten into time lapses! This is my first attempt at a short time lapse movie shot over a quick weekend in London a couple of months ago.

And finally, here you can check the first one of a series of mini films I am currently doing about a friend of mine. This episode involves a man, a shaver, and some beautiful classical music. Enough said.

Thanks a lot for your visits!
Feedback more than welcome as per usual!

The basin - Puerto Morelos, Riviera Maya, Mexico

The basin - Puerto Morelos, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Been trying out new ways of processing normal, single, landscape orientated shots into square format for a triptych my sister asked me to do. Here's one of the shots I might use in it. The process mainly involves some careful selective distortions but no cropping in order to simulate the type of distortion you would get when shooting on a medium format.
I still think it's a bit too gritty but would like to hear your views on it to be honest.

This was shot on my last evening in Puerto Morelos, for more information on that place or my trip to Mexico please see the pictures in my Mexico set.

The beggar - Millenium Bridge, London, England UK

The beggar - Millenium Bridge, London, England UK

As I was shooting time lapses around London a few weeks back this homeless man came and sat with his dog right in front of my composition, begging for money to the commuters and tourists zooming past him in the hustle and bustle of London.

London is the capital city of England. It has a population of over 7 million and is Europe’s largest and most densely populated city, with 4,679 people per square km. In London there is a severe shortage of decent, affordable housing. This is reflected in the high numbers of homeless households in temporary accommodation.

The government has introduced a range of laws and policies to help tackle homelessness. The Homelessness Act 2002 requires all local authorities to develop a homelessness strategy for their area. Each London borough (there are 32 in total) has a strategy which looks at preventing homelessness and providing accommodation and support for homeless people.

Across London there are over 160 charitable organisations providing hundreds of different services to homeless people. As a result of various initiatives and services set up to help tackle rough sleeping there has been a significant reduction in the numbers of people sleeping rough across England in recent years. However, the highest proportion of the country’s rough sleepers are in London.
