You are so incredibly lucky and fortunate to have been chosen to try the new film. Congratulations! I cannot wait to buy it in a couple of days when it is available to everyone or when I see images like this that are beautifully and visually stunning and pleasing - it just makes me want the film that much more! :)

Haha, cheers Justin. I don't *think* this film is as good technically outside as in, but if it carries on making magic like this I may very well just use it outside!

During shooting I emailed Annie about how shooting outside was almost a complete disaster. She mentioned that emulsion 43 and a third emulsion had been mixed and was testing well at the factory...I wonder if the final emulsion is a more stable mix...or if ater the "First FLush" batch is sold out, there will be a more stable emulsion.
And comments by the head of Harman/Ilford a while back have me wondering if it will eventually be tweaked to be less sepia....

I *preferred* 43. I thought that was more stable. I think a few others agree too, so maybe that could be the answer. Exciting to find out anyway.

i had two packs of stable 40 and one unstable, and my one pack of 43 was mostly awful outdoors but fabulous indoors/low light... am now VERY curious to see how the final product behaves.
also re: the color, my packs of 40 were sepia, but 43 was a silvery b&w, not sepia at all...
and your tree is so very lovely!

Hummm, interesting...
I'm keen to see how they change over time and what they end up at. I noticed 43 was brownier and more contrasty. I might have to go back and check all the files.

We don't really know what we tried. We had two formulas (040 and 043). I don't know what the final formula looks like.... Sorry. See some of my other shots for when it looks more silvery. This is definitely a kind of sepia chocolate look.

I had almost lost all hope when they announced bankruptcy last year (or the year before, can't remember)
