Dear Japan series...

My first collaboration with Pia and it was amazing.

This might not be the final picture. I have some more striking shots, both from Hasselblad and digital. But I think this one tops it all. The way the branches work together with her figure... Much much better that I had planed.

We used low-contrast Fuji Pro 400H film to capture the maximum amount of tonality in shadows and in whites, and we deliberately scanned at lowest possible contrast. It is amazing how this film can still preserve details in the bright sky and in the deep wooden structure. However, it will have to be rescanned to remove the artifacts...

Blaž is one of the geniuses behind the genius of Siddharta. To be exact; he deals with public relations, promotions and everything that goes with it.
Our first contact goes back to Siddharta's first Stadium concert when Blaž was 'just' a voice on the next side of the phone line. I still can't imagine the nerves he had with me. I was calling him almost twice a day and he had about 200-300 serious reporters to handle. I was just a kid with a camera. :D
Anyways times passed, we both did so much in between and our cooperation got stronger and stronger. I can't tell you how much I have learned from him and his work, and it was my privilege to thank him with this portrait session we had in autumn.
