This is just one of the many images that German flickr members are supposed to miss due to flickrs misguided aproach at restricting the rights of their German members.

When flickr introduced the restriction in the following discussion the flickr management promised to look at introducing a age verification system. But as expected nothing happened after the protest storm ended. The only action taken was to close some of the more obvious loopholes that where originally there to get around some of the restrictions.

One obvious approach that would only need some smart thinking and maybe one hour of database programming and testing would be to lift the restrictions for those members whose yahoo accounts have been around for 10 or 15 years. They are obviously no longer minors even if they where when they joined flickr.
