Chocolate chip cookies

These are the BEST. Rachael's recipe and when cooked just right, they are the perfect, soft, warm chocolate chip cookie. The trick is to avoid over baking them. Take them out when the BOTTOM is just starting to brown and then when they sit on the counter... they'll finish to the perfect cookie... about 8 minutes or so. The other trick is to actually beat the prescribed amount of time... if it isn't done properly, they are not the same. Trust me.

    Here's the recipe:
    Chocolate Chip Cookies

Beat for 3 minutes on Speed 10 or “high”:

    1 cup softened butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup dark brown sugar

Add and beat for 3 more minutes on Speed 10 or “high”:
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla

Add and beat for 1 minute on Speed 1 or “low”:
    3 cups flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda

Add and mix for 1 more minute on Speed 1 or “low”:
12 oz. (or 2 cups) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (if desired)

Bake at 375F for 8 – 11 minutes. Take out before too brown.

    Enjoy!

Hey thanks, Steel.Melody, they are (were) Really good. I uploaded this one with a lot of others so it went relatively overlooked, I think... These were for Griffin's special person day at his pre school. One for each kid plus a few for each teacher. (An apple for the teacher isn't really 'in' anymore). You should try the recipe some time... they really are better than any other cookie. I don't think you need to get dressed up in anything special, though, unless you Really want to. ;-)

perfecto! just be sure not to over cook them. By the time they're getting golden in the center... they'll be over cooked. Well, that's at sea level, anyway... I hear that altitude can have an effect.

I'll remember that! I'll let you know when I made them ;)
