My first flower !
I bought the plant a few yrs ago with a couple flowers on it..but they
quickly died and it never did much after that. The last few weeks I
noticed a pink thing starting to form and to my amazement (I have a
black thumb lol) it produced a flower! I had to take a few pics to
prove I don't kill every green thing I bring home. It actually has two
flowers now but the other one didn't open yet. :))
I hope everyone of my contacts in the US are having a very Happy
Thanksgiving today!!

Lovely composition, Joyce, and rich colours. I have one plant here and it always amazes me that it flowers. Definitely don't have a green thumb, to put it mildly - and anyway, I spend my time enjoying and photographing wildflowers, so don't really need a green thumb.

Very very nice! Great color. They only bloom at this time every year; thus the name. ;-) That's why it hasn't done anything but, likely, make new leaf segments since you got it. Feeling the growing cold and "seeing" the shortening light will help it make more buds in the future; those are its cues that it's time. I always left mine outside to observe those things until it really needed to come inside, then left it in a window.

Hi Hope that your Christmas is going to be great. Love the shot., my cactus is resting this year, I have had it for many years. On the up side my orchid has a new shoot and that means new blooms.

Beautiful!!!!! Nice that it bloomed in December. Some seem to think that Nov or Jan are just right :-) You must have it well trained...
