Red Wool

Red Wool

I've never seen sheep so red, I'm wondering if the farmer went a bit mad with the dye or does it all fade away, maybe I just spotted them after being recently dipped..
It took a bit of effort to get some of these nervous strangely coloured sheep into a shot. I had to circle back behind them and sneak up. I was happy with this one :)

Ladybird on a Sunflower

Ladybird on a Sunflower

I borrowed a friends Canon Speedlite 430EX II last month. First time ever using an external flash, it really makes the macro photography a whole lot easier.

Dawn above Coumshingaun

Dawn above Coumshingaun

This was taken at 10th of March 2010, five minutes before this
www.flickr.com/photos/an_diabhal_glas/4477787072/
I only managed to merge these shots lately and recreate the view that briefly appeared before me on that frosty dawn looking down on the deise country side.
Its made up of four horizontal positions and three RAW files bracketed at +/- one stop; 12 shots in all.
Its how it looked that frosty morning, there wasn't a chance I could get any auto stitch program working with them :( and the variations in light and shadow meant a lot of PP to get the scene as the human eye can see it. RAW files were a saviour!
Never seen Pink Mist/ Clouds like that at eye level before, with in five minutes It was nearly covering the whole mountain top.
I just got really lucky that morning with the light and clouds and weather. I wonder how many other mornings its looks spectacular in other ways up there on top of the Comeragh mountains????
