Hawaiian landmark
When Barack Obama visited his former home state of Hawaii early this month, he mentioned the Rainbow Drive-In as a place he'd like to see again. Such is the landmark status of this local joint on Kapahulu Avenue. It's been here since 1961 and you can still get a huge plate lunch (or dinner) for $6.50 or less (saimin only $2.50). Cheap, fast, plentiful and good - what more could you ask? The only problem is, they always run out of pork long rice before I get there!

Looks a lot classier at night then it does when I drive past it every morning, but the place is always packed, so you know the food is good and plentiful!
