Micro FIT Solar Energy

Micro FIT Solar Energy

Meanwhile signs of hope spring up, thanks to the policies of a more progressive Ontario government. Big oil hates renewables because they're distributed: it's not easy to centralize the profits to keep the oil barons rich. Many small and medium businesses share both the work and the rewards. We all need to raise our voices -- and vote with our dollars -- to make sure that big oil's lies and manipulation don't keep us from doing the right thing.

The land in tatters...

The land in tatters...

Nearby, costly billboards of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, trying to look good. Our country is turning into a corrupt oil republic, but these folks make it sound like they're doing us a favour. There's an old saying: the bigger the lie, the more people believe it. But more and more of us are waking up.

We're all oil junkies...

We're all oil junkies...

...but we have all the tools to quit. If only Parliament would get out of bed with big oil!

Bicycles belong on the road!

Bicycles belong on the road!

Although many car drivers seem unaware, bicycles have all the rights that cars do, including the right to any part of a lane when necessary. Cars do not have any more right to the road than bikes.

Driver's handbook: www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/driver/handbook/

The other side of the coin, of course, is that bicycles should drive safely and follow the rules of the road. Just like car drivers, some cyclists ride like jerks. We need to share the road thoughtfully.
