I wonder what she is feeing that bird to make its feathers green and pink? Do you know?

    15. sk8ell (52 months ago | reply)

This is the kind we have, year-round, in Portland (OR). They drink nectar from flowers, like other hummingbirds, and their feathers are naturally that color. This one must be a male, because the females don't have the red, and are a muddier shade of green.

A fine photo but a pity about the burnt out highlights in the background.

      What's this bird's story?

    18. boygirlparty (52 months ago | reply)

      yeah...um... what a pity.

edgeplot, it's a hummingbird currently being cared for at project wildlife, a place i volunteer at: www.projectwildlife.org

Thanks... I meant though, what specifically is wrong with him and how did he come to to Project Wildlife? Hummingbirds are so small that even minor trauma can be fatal. Just curious!

it's a pity that the blue measurement markings are slightly scratched on that syringe.
