Snowy Woods of Erie Pennsylvania 2008

Due to the lack of time to process anything out of my archives... the snow fanatics rejoice! Another snowy image from our backyard in Northwest Pennsylvania for you just a couple days ago. This is basically straight out of the camera with couple minor curves and levels adjustments in CS3.

The snow basically all melted away last night because of the warm temperatures and some rain. Another batch of snow is forecast for this weekend :-)

I just realized that the winter officially does not start until December 21! Well our winters start early and are very long... the last snow may end in May of 2009! Usually that's how it goes around here. From the late October to the early May and you do the math!

    ~Have a wonderful day everyone!~

No, but for real... I love this scene, I'm not a big fan of winter. But winter scenes do look beautiful. Great composition here, very peaceful!

No, Igor I clicked on your icon from your comment on my photo.

Wow, Igor... all kidding aside this is very nice my friend! It is amazing how that snow can totally transform something.
Since getting back into photography back in May I have actually been looking forward to snow!
This is crazy because I hate winter but the photo ops are undeniable

      Anyway, great shot my friend.
      Take care...

I was so excited about NOT being third, that I totally forgot to actually leave a constructive comment. Here's your constructive comment:

Lovely self portrait, congrats. (just in case Raymundo doesn't show up for awhile, you won't feel slighted)

Looks like we should be getting some snow here too in the next day or so. Right now the wind in gusting to 70 MPH. Love that...

More of the white crap. I hate the winters but have to admit it sure looks pretty after a snowfall like you had. The reality is slush, dirty slush, COLD, boots, gloves, hats, freezing your ass off, did I mention COLD!!!! The cold is the worst part. Looks nice though Igor. Nice backyard.

Yikes! Nothing over here on the eastern part of the state. This is beautiful, Igor. Well done. A winter wonderland.

Yeah, who said seasons are 3 months long?

      Your neighbor from 6-month-winter-ohio...

    29. :: Igor Borisenko Photography :: (43 months ago | reply)

^ Thank you my neighbors! Yeah so much about 3 month seasons... I know it's all hype! 6 month winters are pretty though to chew I have to admit that. You really do get tired of snow by the beginning of May!

Love it. I'd love to trade all those months with snow for our rainy and clouded wetter. :P

Great shot. Reminds me of growing up in northeast Ohio, along the lake. I now live in Colorado, along the foothills. We may get 2-3 big snows a season, but otherwise it's pretty wimpy here- as opposed to the mountains.

Wow, Igor - can't believe you guys have snow already... We're just getting started on the heat down here.

This is a very nice capture, of course. Love how the fresh snow makes everything somehow seem clean...

Used to live in western PA, a little south of the snowbelt. Now I live in the so-called 'Paradise'.........Florida. Personally, I miss the snow and hate the heat and humidity. Thanks for reminding me of why I will return.......a beautiful image!

Great work...did you try isolating and darkening the darker tones at all... wondering if that contrast would have enhanced this even further.
