Reynisdrangar & Basalt Columns [Explore #9]

    Newer Older

Located at Reynisfjara on the south coast of Iceland are the basalt pillars Reynisdrangar that rise from the sea. Legend has it that these are trolls that turned into stone when day broke. On the left hand side are basalt columns that have hexagonal shape. Surprisingly, this was my first visit to Reynisfjara which is incomprehensible to me since it is easily accessible and close to the main highway along the south coast.
