The quite enormous Saddle-billed stork is a resident breeder in sub-Saharan Africa and a close relative of the widespread Asian Black-necked Stork, the only other member of the genus Ephippiorhynchus.

Colobus monkey #4

The mantled guereza (Colobus guereza) or "eastern black-and-white colobus" is a black and white colobus monkey native to much of west central and east Africa. Many of these lived in the area around Wondo Genet and were not at all shy to come to the resort hotel to pose for the tourists (and probably expecting some food).

These amazing kids were doing a spontaneous little welcoming song for us as we were just passing by on on a short hike outside Wondo Genet, wishing us welcome. It was fantastic to see. And listen to.
