November 17, 2011. Today she is 10 years old. She acts like she's 2! I know all dogs are special. I cannot love one more than the other... Belle is a dog's dog. Some dogs think they are people...this one is all dog! She has never lost a challenge for alpha, ever. That's not a quality I admire as much as Belle thinks I do, and quite strange for a Labrador, but with her, its all or nothing. Every time. She's always 'on'. And at 10 she has lost none of her game. She's gonna go full throttle until she can't go anymore. On some levels that scares me. But that's how she is. And she's my best friend.

From my archives, this was taken this past winter, at the end of January. Only half way through the fall season this year, there is already more than double the snow-pack that is shown here up in the high country! Its gonna be a long winter...
