I still do not understand well why this one...
I was very afraid of my 70th year, so I made a lot of pictures of myself to reassure me that it is not SO bad.
And then, begin to play : <hat if I made a picture in the bathroom, what if I made my knees, what if I made one, showing with a "grimace" that perhaps I went to far... ? so here I showed, perhaps a little exagereted, but really what I felt then (autoportrait)

I love the way you look at yourself.

I admire your sense of humor and your boldness to expose yourself.
The first thing that would come to my mind when being asked to publish a self-portrait would be a gesture of denial or presenting a craftily blurred image as a gesture of protection of privacy.
Your images raise the question if I shouldn't think differently. Thank you.

Great picture indeed!
I am so glad to hear that this was just a grimace and that you were photographing yourself, because for the moment there I got worried about this lady. :)

Julie - you've outdone yourself, and the best thing is, I have a funny feeling there's more to come.
Although, looking back, I think this is the Julie70 Do Your Worst Moment so far.
Julie70 (79 months ago | reply)
Thank you all a lot,
I would never have dreamed, that one of my old "worst" autoportraits would become the first in favorites and interestingness too!
And in original color, it wa even more so... but did not convey as well what I did want here: realising I went to far in...

True, "look at my hands.. that is one of the things that most amaze me.
those viens and wrinkles where did they came from???" you are right, the hands go older then anything else.
But until we feel young inside...
tsmyther (79 months ago | reply)
Great addition to the love/hate pool! We all have experienced suddenly really noticing that face in the mirror changing, first into old photos of our parents, then into how we actually remember them in our youth, and then into our grandparents. It's so frustrating, when, as you said, we're still young inside, but the body gives away our true age.
I hope to have your vitality and "youth of heart" when I pass 70. Thanks for sharing with us all your lovely inner child!
Saffanna (79 months ago | reply)
Julie, you are truely a inspiration to all of us of a certain age who are morphing on a daily basis....i love watching your photo stream and your continued journey with this life.
