On 14 Oct 2008, we had a beautiful full moon lighting up the sky and the starts of a storm moving in. The moon would be completely clouded over about fifteen minutes after this shot.
This time I was prepared, so I tried multiple exposures, but that turned out to be a failure. Although the camera was fixed on the tripod, the position of the moon changed just enough in the second or two it took me to change the exposure wheel, that I had to resort to plan B.
I then changed to exposure-bracketed shots using 1EV change, shooting a rapid burst of 9 shots, 4 on either side of the centre exposure, in RAW mode.
This HDR is created directly from 4 of the raw shots, with no other adjustments.
Taken in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

All you need is the silhouette of a witch flying by on a broomstick and it would be a perfect Halloween shot. Very nice.

l found this one while wandering through a new contact's site and knew, even from its smallest size that this image was an instant fave and invite to the group. l never have been able to capture the full moon very well so was delighted to see that someone was, and then make it glow, especially in this season. A beautiful image one one well deserving to be in a group dedicated to excellence.

Thank you for adding this beautiful image to the gallery:Dances With Light.

@LibraSpirit03: Thank you for your visit, your invitations, your favourite and your kind comments. They are most appreciated.
I should remark again that this is a 4-shot HDR taken a year ago. As remarked by rwolfert, above, the human eye would see this all at once, but no digital camera can take a single shot of this scene. I had tried for many months, hoping that even a multiple exposure would work. Doing a light HDR shot seemed to be the only way to get the scene right.
Again, thank you.
