      u-pick just started. 1 gal buckets, about 20 min of picking. 7 half-pints plain jam, 6 of vanilla-bean strawberry. 1.5 gal left to process and freeze.

      Omigosh, how wonderful! After reading "The Feast Nearby", I've convinced my hubby that we should start setting more aside seasonally. I missed the farmer's market today so I'll have to see what I can find on Wednesday at the other F.M.

      Plain old strawberry jam is like sunshine. I'm sure it will be well loved.

      I can't quite believe that strawberry season has begun down where you are. It'll be here before I know it too.
