pas de deux

I've been editing a whole series of photos of abri and her daddy (mostly abri) dancing. Abri got a new tutu for Christmas and was really enjoying dancing in it. It's so interesting to me how well she is able to match the quality of the music with her movement. I suppose it comes naturally when you're just a kid and have no inhibitions. She would start out on our couch waiting for her dad to approach and extend his hand to her. Then she would leap off of the couch and dance her way over to the window and then back to the couch. They repeated this over and over and over again.

The lighting was really poor but i did not want to ruin the shots with the flash. Instead I opted to crank the ISO and then do some rather extreme editing to try to capture the general feel of her dancing. I'm not going to be able to resist posting a couple more of these.

this one is a true treasure. one that should be displayed forever. one day she may dance at her wedding with her daddy and something makes me think you will all think back to this moment.

From a girl who didn't have a dad that was involved in my life, this is soooo lovely. She will adore this, now and forever. Great shot!
