New York Central 8254 American Locomotive Company (ALCO) RS3
New York Central 6000 S1 Electric
Prototype of NYC's electric locomotives was this S-1 (originally numbered 6000), which was built in 1904 to provide high speed service with the heaviest passenger trains. This engine remained in active service until 1965. More than 60 years later, New York Central has donated it to the American Museum of Electricity for permanent display.
