This image captures the spirit of this beautiful Mute Swan in the first rays of light. It will form part of one of the short films I am doing for Photo Training4U www.phototraining4u.com/. Elegance, Regal and confident pose captured here, for me encapsulating the true character of these swans that live among us on lakes, rivers and ponds. She was floating effortless here, I had hardly any shutter speed but this is where a tripod comes into its own in poor light. Females have a smaller, thinner neck and are not as large as the males. In this case he was just out of shot and keeping an eye on me as they are amazedly protective of each other which is nice and very enduring to see. This film along with others will be released next year showing the way in which I work within my wildlife photography. In the meantime I hope you enjoy this very simple yet beautiful image of a beautiful bird floating in the first rays of light and have a very Merry Christmas everyone :0)
