The Mrs
taken with my Crown Graphic with the Kodak Ektar 203mm f7.7 lens with
polaroid Type 55 pos/neg film.
Natural light, sun behind one gold reflector bouncing the sun into
her face.
I have printed this at 40x50 and the detail is amazing... when I tell
people its film and taken with a camera from 1957 they don't believe
me :)

Well Zach, I recently taught a 3 day course for the local photography students and they have never really seen large format film before... they are digital this and megapixel that.... when I took out the crown they were a little astonished, but when I showed them what it could do they were even more amazed.

Outstanding. Considering getting a crown graphic as my entry into large format. Any tips?

1RoseHill, Crown Graphic is a pretty simple camera, but make sure the bellows are light tight, check the shutter actuates smoothly with the button on the body. Check the times seem right, no slow slow-speeds...
Also if you want to do hand held LF then check that the rangefinder is calibrated to the lens you will use most often... otherwise its tripod and ground glass....
In addition to the most likely 135mm standard lens I can highly recommend getting the Ektar 203mm This is just a winderful portrait lens... I dont use mine enough! This I focus on the ground glass as my Calart rangefinder is calibrated for my standard lens.
