LEGO Caterham 7 JPE
The "no holds barred" version!
Still a W.I.P thats been shelved whilst I wait for my sticker guy to move house, but its almost there.
This is the model I initially always wanted to build, the JPE.
It incorporates a full tublar chassis including steering column, full underside details, easy to remove engine + gearbox, front and rear brake calipers (and brake hoses!).
Removable nose and bonnet.
Smoothing out the underside has been possibly one of the most difficult things I've ever built in LEGO with trying to retain strength throughout the chassis, as there is so much anti-stud to anti-stud connections.
Feelin like a bit of a 1 trick pony, but this car is such a great car to keep building more and more models of.
(BUT "some of you know what else I've been working on for the last 4 months;) )
If it inspires someone to have a go at detailing my standard set, then all good, go and treat yourself for Easter! :D
