Redesigned Blank Gantt Chart

Redesigned Blank Gantt Chart

This design has been kept the basic layout of the previous designs, but it has been developed to be more visually stimulating. The chart design keeps to that of previous designs. However I have chosen a thick, black outline rather than the more subtle white designs experimented with to ensure it is clear and thus more professional and easy to read.

By redesigning the gantt charts background the design is given more depth leading the eye into the chart. It is the kind of background which will cause the person studying it to notice different patterns etc each time they look at it, vital to a gantt chart design as they are viewed on a regular basis by individuals or the full creative team.

By placing the client's name at the bottom of the layout's design, it is visible yet does not distract from the more important elements of the gantt chart.

Final Gantt Chart for Ted Baker Brief

Final Gantt Chart for Ted Baker Brief

This is the final gantt chart design and has been used as it would be with Ted Baker as the client.

As this would be the gantt chart for the same company as the creative brief I designed I choose to keep the same background throughout, ensuring coherence within the company.

The use of images within this gantt chart layout, has been limited in relation to previous designs. The images used are relevant to the tasks illustrated on the gantt chart. The client's logo has been included, alongside a photograph of one of their store fronts; this is as the gantt chart refers to in-store promotions and launches.

The base for the gantt chart is clear and visible with a bold black outline ensuring it stands out from the background. However the transparency and layering within the background adds visual interest and stimulation to the design, drawing in the reader.

To make sure the time frame boxes stand out from the background, bold opaque colours, influenced by the background colourscheme, have been used. A key placed visibly at the top of the design shows the meaning of each colour.

By having the client's name written in a different, contrasting font to those used throughout the rest of the design, it makes it evident to the designer using the gantt chart the client they are working for.

Finally annotations have been added to the design. This allows for explanation and additional information to be added to the otherwise clear and concise chart. It ensures that the purpose of each time slot is apparent to the person working from the gantt chart.

Original Gantt Chart design

Original Gantt Chart design

This was the original gantt chart that was to be used by the team. However to create a more corporate look and to ensure a professional look was created an alternative gantt chart was designed to be more coherent with the look of the creative brief.

Project Creative Brief

Project Creative Brief

As a creative agency a creative brief was needed to ensure that each member was aware of the aim for this project.

This creative brief clearly illustrates the product that is being relaunched, alongside the way in which this should be carried out.

As the essence of the perfume, its scent and bottle design, is about apples and DKNY is about New York an image of the 'big apple' New York has been used as the background. This doesnt distract from the information the brief is describing, but acts as inspiration in design process. This photograph has been used throughout any agency information.

Gannt_chart_for_dkny

Gannt_chart_for_dkny

By using the same background as the creative brief and creating a logo design for the company a professional look was given.

This gantt chart sets out the plan for the advert restyle and allowed for time management to be kept to. It also ensured that all members were aware of the stages to be carried out.
