Potsdamer Platz

Potsdamer Platz was a lively square in the 1920s but the war left it virtually empty and the Berlin wall went through the middle stopping any rebuilding work. In the 1990s it was Europe's largest building site and now is ultra modern looking.

Schloss Charlottenburg

Schloss Charlottenburg

The palace was built by King Frederick I as his wife's summer retreat. It was originally called Schloss Lietzenburg but renamed after her (Queen Sophie Charlotte ) when she died.
