New pastel drawing, just getting started.........

This is a photo of a commissioned portrait of brothers who share their love of bowhunting with their father, Tim. The mother and the boys commissioned me to do this portrait for their father. I didn't want the clothing, or the hunting equipmen to take away from the boys, so I simply played down the gear, and let the emphasis be on the faces.

I did this drawing 10 or 15 years ago, and after showing it a few times, broke the frame it was in, and put it in my warehouse for protection, and forgot about it. I ran across it the other day and decided to photograph it. The subject is George Ross, referred to as Papa Ross, by many. George passed on to the spirit world several years ago. He was a good friend with a huge personality, not the type one would ever forget. The original was done in stick pastels and is basically life-sized.

This is a pencil version of a drawing I did earlier in the year in color. I needed a black and white version for another project.
