I stumbled across this little gem by accident last week. There was so much potential in an area about 30 x 20 metres. I spotted some patches of heather that mean a return trip late summer is essential. Hopefully we'll have a cold snap and it'll freeze over in the next few weeks so I can capture some ice formations. I also found a small brook with fast running water - a first for me as they always seem to be either dry or stagnant. The project is really starting to take shape now. I feel it's taken almost a year to get to know the area and form a rough plan for the next couple of years.
I'm starting to compose more and more for a square crop too. It took me around 20 minutes to settle on this composition. The branches of the tree are covered in rain drops and I needed to get them set against a dark background. It was a grim day, this image was made at around 2pm, hopefully you get a sense of this.
Anyway, I've uploaded this image and a few more new photographs to the Epping section of my website. It would be great if you could check it out.
Thanks for visiting.
