Taken from the MTA building with iPhone 3GS and processed for clarity with Camera+ app. It was spectacular even by L.A.'s high sunset standards. Original had a lot of noise that I cleaned up a little in Photoshop Elements by creating a new layer and using Gaussian Blur on it and then merging with the original. The building with the big windows in the foreground is Union Station, the train depot in L.A.

All in all, not bad for an iPhone but I wish I had my real camera with me. Might have gotten a shot like this: www.laobserved.com/archive/2012/01/tonights_sunset_as_bea...<

Paddleboarders off Will Rogers State Beach in Santa Monica. I have another photo in which the water is shimmering in the sunlight, but I like this one better -- looks more realistic and I always like photos of people set against vast landscapes (or, in this case, seascapes). And, besides, I can't afford a bigger lens at the moment :)
