I shake my head with confusion, although I am flabbergasted, and my body is stunned, I’m completely and utterly defenseless. I restrained myself.
Demetrius gathered himself up and touched my meek hand, “You have to control your alter ego and stop catching me off guard. For now I’ll keep your secret. What happens in Fiji, stays in Fiji.” He dictated in a humbled fashion. I’m not arrogant nor am I enlightened. He knew something I didn’t.
“Demetrius, please tell me what just happened. Please.” I finally demanded with a bewildered appearance. I wasn’t exactly intimidated anymore.
“You changed,” he admitted. “Into what!?” I questioned.
“Well, you, you, became, a, a mermaid.” He finally stammered.
What in the world?
“I don’t believe you.” I murmured. As I slipped back into my tiny denim shorts and silky tank top, Demetrius chuckled and tied up his Nike running shoes.
“Well then, you just keep telling yourself that!” he mocked. “No, I demand to know the truth!” I scorned.
“Fine! You’re a fish and a Fiji native, combined into one malevolent, beautiful mermaid!” he shouted back and stormed off back to Elise’s mansion.
I couldn’t believe it nor would I. Although, I was completely sedated, I was sure that whatever went down, was opposite of what Demetrius had told me.
Only time will tell…
