Accidental Farm
Ever wonder what happens when you do HDR on three dissimilar images? Imagine my surprise. I kind of like it...although it's certainly not what I expected.

Quilt barns - barns adorned with eight-foot-square wood blocks painted in quilt patterns - have in the past few years sprang up all over the country. Wisconsin has its share, particularly in Racine, Walworth, Green, Lafayette and Kewaunee counties. I've started photographing the ones close to my home. I love rural landscapes and barns, so driving around to Quilt Barns is a great way to see many parts of the beautiful countryside that I otherwise wouldn't have any reason to visit.
This barn is in western Racine County. The title of the quilt pattern is obviously a reference to the mid-1800s debate over where to set the northwestern boundary of the United States (and it was 49' north, not 54'40" that prevailed). Why this pattern evokes that debate, I don't yet know.
