50 YEAR GENERATION GAP

50 YEAR GENERATION GAP

Two generations of pilot training, nearest a Chipmunk T10 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, in the background a training version of the Typhoon.

Theres only about 50 years seperating them both but they are worlds apart....

CIVVY CHIPPIE 22A G-ALWB

CIVVY CHIPPIE 22A G-ALWB

What seems to be quite a rare breed a De Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk that has never been called up for military service (or so I thought on further investigation it would appear that this Chippie has been used by the Lebanese Army in 1963!!), caught here basking in some late summer sun at Wickenby.

G-ALWB

A few strange names appear in the ownership of this Chippie over the years, besides the Lebenese Army, theres also a Bruce Butlin and some bloke called Kevin Keegan!!
