Fox news on the T.V., and they will add Cilantro and give you fresh Limes if you ask- try getting that at Taco Belch!!!

Two Meat Lunch Special (Rib Tips and Georgia Pulled Pork), Coke $12.00-

I REALLY like Famous Dave's! It is one of my favorite rib joints - even though it is a corporate chain.
But, today was a bad day.
The waitress told me they have new/different tips, "so, we're getting fewer complaints".
I have always substituted the half-ear-of-corn and the cornbread muffin for one extra side (BBQ Beans), the waitress told me "we no longer serve the half-ear-of-corn so I don't think I can sub the extra side, but, I'll see what I can do".
She brought my food after what seemed like a much longer than usual wait and I got my extra side with no muffin. The first rib tip I tore into was 80% fat, bone and gristle. During this time the kitchen manager was randomly walking around talking to customers asking how was the food. He watched me eating the first tip as we chatted and when the edible meat was gone I showed him and said "look, 80% percent waste for the customer". The kitchen manager agreed this was unacceptable and said he would bring me some more tips- I never got them.
About half the rib tips served to me were about the same 80% waste and about half were good and normal for I would expect restaurant rib tips to be.
The waitress charged me full price for an extra side, so no substitution, even though she never brought me a cornbread muffin ( which is what I was going sub for the extra dish of beans).
I REALLY like the food at Famous Daves, but I have had very inconsistant service and food quality at this particular store in Mishawaka, IN.

"Big Fish Sandwhich", Coke $ 5.35-

I used to like BK's Whaler (fish sammich), then they changed the name to "Big Fish" because morons actually thought whales were somehow being harmed by my eating a BK whitefish or codfish sammich!!!
I haven't been going to BK as much as I used to, but today I got their "Big Fish" sammich- it's not BIG anymore.
I don't have hard numbers, but I am confident in saying the fish patty and the bun are both 30-40 % smaller than a few years ago. And now they are putting two pickle slices (???) on the fish - like that makes up for the much smaller portion!!!
I guess now it's a "Fancy-Fish-Foo-Foo-Petite"!!!

Also, I ALWAYS ask that my fish be "dropped" fresh so I don't get one that has been lying around in their warming drawer for a couple hours. And this one just didn't seem right. I even suspect they may have
re-dropped this one just to make it hotter so I would think it was "fresh". The fish patty was very dark and super-saturated with grease- it was NOT good.
Maybe this is why I don't go to BK as much as I used to.

Hot Fudge Shake, 2 Cheeseburgers $5.37-

I don't usually bother with reviewing fast food joints because it's like flogging a dead horse, but I felt compelled today.

Dairy Queen has their Happy Hour from 2-4 and their shakes/malts are pretty decent. While I was in there I saw the big, beautiful cheeseburger advertising and I decided to get a couple.
Wrong choice.
When I placed my order the counter girl was rude, I stood at the counter and the girl "reminded" me twice that I could sit down and they would bring my order to me- I decided to continue waiting at the counter. When the burgers were ready a different girl just plopped them down on the counter, no tray. I asked if they had trays, she said "no".
I ate one of the burgers, the bun was smashed flat and was stiff and chewy like it had been microwaved, stupidly huge onion slices fell out of the burger. The meat patty was paper thin and chewy. I didn't even eat the second burger (pictured) which was also a sad, sloppy mess. The manager did refund my money for one of the burgers and tried to minimize the "pathetic-ness" of this burger by saying "Well, the cheese isn't on there good"...!!!
All I did was unwrap this burger for the photo- this is what DQ/Dairy Queen serves.
