It was absolutely beautiful in San Francisco this weekend. My house is only a few miles from the ocean (I can hear the waves at night if it’s quiet enough). Anyway I hopped on my bike, rode to the beach and biked along the Great Highway to the Cliff House. It was such a great afternoon!

I had a corporate party later that night so I went home, showered, suited up with a Gucci tie and then proceeded to party my ass off. Pretty awesome weekend.

Since grad school ended, I’ve been sporadically seeing my friends / classmates. Erica’s my best friend from our MBA program and I haven’t seen her in over a month and I’ve been missing her. So I decided to head down to Walnut Creek for the day and spend the afternoon with her and her boyfriend. She’s got a beautiful house there with her 2 doggies.

I always make fun of her because she left San Francisco to move to the suburbs 40 minutes away. That being said, it’s not so bad in the Creek of Walnuts.

Anyway, we met up for brunch, went shopping then hit the gun range. All in all, it was a great day. If you look at my Tumblr photo blog, Erica’s the one with the pink Remington ear protection!

Of course I brought my DSLR to a gun / rifle range!

Firefighter

Firefighter

I love this photo!

We had a 3 day weekend and my cousin Nancy is visiting from Beijing. We called up our other cousin Jessica and decided to head to Marin and hike Mount Tamalpais with a couple other friends.

The directions said to make a right at the fire station once we entered the state park but unknown to us, we were at the wrong fire station. So while Nancy went off to ask for directions, I started to check out the fire truck. A fire fighter came out and said “hop in”. I put on some of the gear, took tons of photos and had a blast. He told me that adults usually have more fun messing around in the truck than kids do.

After taking a bunch of photos, a 2nd fire fighter came out and said “do you want a picture with the axe?”

Holy Crap… I was like… “oh hellz to the yes!”

Absolut San Francisco

Absolut San Francisco

You know you live in a cool city when Absolut Vodka names a flavor after your city. I’ve been trying to find these limited edition bottles and my girlfriend stumbled upon them while buying wine so she bought me a bottle. It’s not the best vodka I’ve had but it’s pretty yummy.

I’ve been a little absent from Flickr in general. I’ve been posting more to Tumblr since those are usually just for funsies. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things but I’ve either been sick, too lazy or too uninspired to shoot. Now that grad school is done, I’ve got so much free time. It feels amazing not having to worry about exams and homework and just doing whatever I want!

I remember why I chose photography

I remember why I chose photography

So Jenny had the bright idea to challenge me to a model building contest. Sounds simple and easy enough right? We drove to a hobby shop and picked up a couple models. Never again. What a pain in my ass. It took 7 hours. In the end, I didn’t even paint in the right colors which is why I converted this photo to black and white!

I will admit I take pride in my final product. I wasn’t having any fun at first. I swear the people who design the instruction manuals to these things are lazy idiots. There was a lot of cussing in the house today. By the end though, I did have fun painting and I am glad I finished, so it's not all bad!

Oh and if you're wondering... I beat Jenny. Mine is way cooler!
