SUPPORT FACE AFRICA

    www.faceafrica.org/

FACE Africa provides access to clean and safe drinking water to communities in Liberia. We use an innovative social enterprise model to fund our water projects, while providing economic opportunities for women.

Liberia is recovering from 14 years of civil war which destroyed the country’s infrastructure, including major water points and water systems. On any given day, millions of Liberians are battling the effects of some kind of waterborne disease. Poor sanitation and bad hygiene cause the deaths of one in five Liberians (WHO). According to a recent CDC report, a necessary starting point in rebuilding the country is to provide access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. Improving access to clean water is the first line of attack for FACE Africa. By collaborating with local communities, partner organizations and government agencies, our goal is to implement sustainable water projects that help reduce poverty and improve the quality of life for the people of Liberia.

      STOP FRACKING!

Please look up fracking if you don't know what it is. Or go out and rent the Oscar nominated documentary: Gasland www.gaslandthemovie.com/

      Heard of the Halliburton Loophole?
In 2005, the Bush/ Cheney Energy Bill exempted natural gas drilling from the Safe Drinking Water Act. It exempts companies from disclosing the chemicals used during hydraulic fracturing. Essentially, the provision took the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) off the job. It is now commonly referred to as the Halliburton Loophole.

Yes, I am aware of Fracking. I learn of it while watching one of the episodes of Governor Jesse Ventura documentary: Worldwide Water Conspiracy. The stealing of the world water resources by corporations like Halliburton and others. The problem in Libera and other poor counties is a different more and immediate problem. I am sure Fracking will come to poor countries as well.
