(Sittin' on) the Top of the Bay
For nine months in 1973-74, I rented a house in the Berkeley Hills. The house was located 700 to 800 feet above San Francisco Bay with a fabulous view. Most of the time, my SLR was mounted on a tripod sitting in one of our bedroom windows. Certainly, there were limits to taking photos from a fixed location. Downtown San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge were between eight and ten miles away. There were trees that projected into the view at times. Nevertheless, it provided a platform for some of my best photos ever!

PS: The set title mimics Otis Redding's "(Sittin on) the Dock of the Bay."
