GrrlScientistArwenCongoAfricanGreyParrot

Arwen and her new favourite toy.

I bought a new parrot toy this past weekend whilst attending a parrot show in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. This toy is a rubber ball with hard plastic pieces that are inserted into it. (Some of the plastic bits are sitting on the table.) The plastic bits can be removed -- which is great fun for devoted deconstructivists like Arwen. Now I also have a new task: find all the missing bits that have been dropped on the floor before I vacuum them up!

Arwen is a young adult (2010 hatch) captive-bred and hand-fed Congo African grey parrot, Psittacus erithacus. After living in a German pet shop for 3 years, she and her sister, Galadriel, came to live with me (they were my birdday gift this year, arriving home with me in early January 2013).
