I think the 29 is much improved now it's a
double decker. In its bendy-bus form, I
always found it one of the scarier prospects
that London Transport could offer. "The
Knifey Bus" was how we always referred
to it in my house. (Now of course it's
"The Former Knifey Bus".)
I never liked the bendy buses, and, although
some people started defending them when they
were withdrawn (in some cases as an oblique
attack on Boris Johnson, ie with the Mayoral
election coming up), I have never shifted
from that basic fact -- that I just don't
like them. Existing double decker buses are
not perfect in their design but they at least
allow those capable of climbing the stairs to
sit in seclusion.

That's pretty much perfect.
