Big stars made from scrappy patchy innards with HST starpoints and a border of HSTs w/ some of them built from scraps... Someday I will make a quilt like this!

I had used the pink stripe as the binding for the pink Super Shoo-Fly quilt and was starting to feel sad for the fabric that it might be doomed to spend all its life as binding, over and over again. So I decided to try it out as sashing. I super love it! ;)

Added a mitred border to increase the size of the quilt a bit -- especially since the two hedgehog quilts are going to go to sisters* and I want this one to be a little bigger for the bigger sister -- and also I wanted to somewhat show off the sashing as sashing rather than as border/edge also.

*One of my cousins just had a second baby girl and I hadn't gotten around to making a quilt for the first one yet. Oops! :)

Also I think that border fabric will be great next to the mustard which will now be used as binding after continually being rejected from being used elsewhere in the quilt :)
