Into The Shadows; A Self Portrait

Into The Shadows; A Self Portrait

We had some really ominous looking clouds and lots of rain all weekend. So much rain that our field flooded. This is me standing in our field playing with our lighting gear. My husband took the shots and I directed...LOL....at least I'd like to think I directed him. ;)

Creative Thoughts In Progress

Creative Thoughts In Progress

My husband and I shot sunrise Saturday morning. This old oak tree is about 10 minutes from my house and I pass it everyday going into work. It really is a massive tree. I used Eric in the foreground to add some scale otherwise the image may not convey just how large this old tree really is. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a look. Happy shooting everyone. :)

There hasn't been much to shoot here in NC so I went fishing through the archives and found this image from a recent sunset. Below is another version taken about 10 minutes after. Not sure which I like better....which do you perfer??

Pull Up A Chair

Pull Up A Chair

Sunrise Saturday morning was unexpected. I was fast asleep (sleeping like a baby) and my husband woke me up and told me to check out sunrise. I glanced out the window and raced outside with my camera/tripod (still in my PJ's mind you) and started setting up. The color was already going off at this point and my eyes had finally started to wake up and focus...LOL. It lasted for a good 15 minutes.

As I was shooting, my (fur child as I like to call her) Millie, was dying for attention and throwing her ball around like she wanted to play. I was more concerned with sunrise at the time so she figured if she jumped in the chair she'd get my attention...WELL....that worked. HA HA. This was the first shot I took and then she jumped down and I couldn't get her to jump back up. Yup, she got my attention alright. :)

I'm starting to run out of foreground ideas for last minute shots in my yard. So far I've used my mailbox, house, driftwood, and now my chair with my attention hog of a dog. After this I have no more foreground ideas....guess I better get up earlier and actually prepare for it...HAHA. :)

Meet Me At The Old Oak Tree

Meet Me At The Old Oak Tree

We had some snow flurries here last night and I believe the light was catching those snow flurries and turning them a vibrant red. This light only lasted about 2 or 3 minutes and then it got REALLY cold....colder than I'm used to since it's been in the 60's for a while. ;)

I shot this with a fellow phototog last night, hence the title of our conversation. It's always more fun shooting with people than by myself. At the time I didn't notice, but looking at the image now I've noticed that the lighter clouds are almost surrounding the tree in a similar shape as if I had darkened all of the clouds around it....strange. Thanks for taking the time to look at my page...happy shooting everyone! :)
