It's about the time where I could take some city shots in the blue hour if I leave work on time. I didn't manage that tonight. So here's one from out of the window.

Doxey Pool, Roaches, Peak District.

As the sun goes down, just the tops of the rocks beside Doxey Pool catch the warm light.

Decided I'd use my time today by heading further afield within the Peak District.

This was only my second visit to the Roaches and it's already one of my favourite places.

Taken an hour before sunset. Any later and the grasses weren't caught by the sun. A long exposure to smooth the water would have been nice. but there was no time; the light was coming in brief waves.

I didn't see Jenny Greenteeth. Legend says she fell into the pond on a foggy day. And ever since, the mermaid has been enticing people to a watery grave.

Apparently there is also a colony of Australian Wallabies living at the Roaches. Five Wallabies were released in the 1930s.

From up here, on the horizon behind me I saw the mountains of Snowdon in Wales.

I wasn't happy with most of the shots I took this morning. So I looked again at some photos from back in November. Similar to some uploads a few weeks ago but this has a little more mist and cloud interest.
