  • I'd open up the kerning on "Community Church" so it's fully justificed with "Northpointe." Great job! - BeckyMartin

Oh! I love it! It does feel very 1940's which is why I love it! Very cute idea.

One thing though... I'm not so sure I like the font and/or layout of the "THIS DECEMBER" It seems very spaced out, so maybe just close the tracking a bit? Or try a wider font?

Sorry, but this poster is all wrong. While it has a good feeling with its colors and layout it contains three direct reference to the military and war instead of the reason for the season. It also makes no direct reference to what the poster (event) is all about. Lose the two war images and stop the woman from saluting. This poster is more about the the nostalgia of war than it is about Christmas.

    @ bobthebaptistsaves...

i think people are smart enough to use their imagination... i mean, it's at a church, at christmas - of course we'd be talking about the "reason for the season." in fact, our church (i work with bicyclenutdave) gave out 99 "good news packets" ("steps to peace with god" by billy graham/CD/New Testament) to people wanting to make a decision for Christ. Though the poster didn't have all the "prerequisites" a Christmas celebration poster should have, in your opinion, it was effective. People came and heard a message about the peace Christ came to give us, and many lives were impacted. I appreciate your concern, but don't be so quick to judge.

    all in love,

    paul

    hey paul, you asked!
No need to be so defensive. I'm glad it worked and I hope lives are changed and those who make a decision go on to be disciples.

bob- just for the record... the reason i responded the way i did is that it seemed that you weren't really commenting on the design... just voicing your opinion. while I understood where you're coming from (i think), I was a little confused by your last sentence, "This poster is more about the the nostalgia of war than it is about Christmas." This sentence kind of felt to Dave (bicyclenutdave) and I that you were just ranting, and not really offering constructive critique. I apologize if we misinterpreted.
