An amazing city with a vast number of so called main sights and a fascinating history faces usual modern problems. Several years ago the authorities came with an idea of getting rid of the trees in Market Square making the place more similar to such squares in other cities. Fortunately the citizens have saved the unique personality of Market Square, Old Town and therefore the whole city. Still a lot should be done in order to turn these magnificent urban spaces into really attractive places. And that could draw tens of thousands of tourists.

The other of the Przemyśl cathedrals - the Greek Catholic Cathedral of St John the Baptist in Przemyśl, the mother church of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Peremyshl-Warsaw.

As many as three great churches are accumulated in Old Town near Market Square. The building of this one - the Roman Catholic Cathedral - begun in 1495.
