I take drugs to blame my parents for blaming me for not becoming what they wanted.

It's good to micromanage.... If your nerve endings go far beyond where your skin stops. It's always a good idea to have the chemical shears handy to keep those ends short.

hmm.
that he is. has his fucking amazing way with words as well as art. Metaphors to revel in.
bundles of contradictions.
there are lots of ways but that said, we all find our own.
question? is the "cure" worse than the problem it's treating? There are always consequences. Do you really know them? I ask this without judgment, and if you saw my face, heard my voice, you'd know that i mean that truly.
I use adhd speed. I use all kinds of coping tools.
some are cumulative. All kinds of strategies are cumulative. meditation is a good example. it doesn't work until you have been practicing it for a while.
the practice is what i think about, it's very hard for me to practice over long stretches of time. practice is ideally like respiration.
i don't think effective strategies, as well as all change, can be static unless it's just a bandaid. Well, bandaids are necessary, as well. Take the guy who eats the american poison diet day in day out, then gets a new heart, goes right back to pizza and ice cream and beer.
expensive medical procedure so he can continue to enjoy a life that exacerbated his genetic vulnerabilities. hmm. maybe after heart replacement, he will consider treating his heart to a new diet that might sustain it longer. Maybe it's a gift to be treated with the greatest respect.
Practice is a process. I don't really believe in revolutions, personally. At least for me, the practice of small strategies is what makes my chaos tolerable enough to pass through.
There's a type of therapeutic rhetoric that would describe drugs as firefighters. It looks like a solution to a major problem. Heroic, even. but often the fire fighter is in danger. It's always an emergency. that's very exciting . but it can be very debilitating, even life threatening.
Still, we all make trade offs. it's part of being human, i think.
