Around 20,000 runners from 46 countries and regions will participate in the "2007 Toray Cup Shanghai International Marathon" that was flagged of 07:30 this morning. The first Toray Cup in Shanghai was held 1996.

The participants will either do a 42-kilometre marathon, the 21-kilometre half marathon or a 4.5-kilometre "health run" for men and women.
