Jocotes | by MarioMelendez

Jocote (Spondias purpurea). A small, thin tree which grows in the tropics, and is found in dry forest climates. It produces an oval fruit, about the size of a C battery, which is sweet and orange on the inside. The fruit can also be eaten green, when the inside is acid.

SB600 from top, at 1/4 power. Shot in a strobist lunch box, lined with typing paper, same technique as the cake photos for Bootcamp II.

The front was looking kind of dark, so I used a chromed salad spoon as a reflector, at camera right.
