Full Moon Milky Way

Full Moon Milky Way

This is how the Milky Way looks from a dark location under a full Moon. The sky is very bright and blue but even so the structure of the Milky Way is faintly visible in the background and the dark lanes in the Milky Way can also be seen.

Looking at the Milky Way in a photo that looks like daytime is a misterious experience, Moon magic.

Venus Shifts

Venus Shifts

Find Venus just above the trees!

Every 584 days planet Venus changes from its morning shift to the evening shift.

This is my first photo of Venus in the evening from 2013, this will be a very favorable shift for the south hemisphere with the planet reaching maximum brightness and elevation in the sping.

Every story has a begining and this is one.

The Milky Way at Large

The Milky Way at Large

The brightest part of the Milky Way pointing towards the galactic center rises almost to the zenith as seen from the south hemisphere during winter months. A faint case of airglow makes the sky looks green specially towards the bottom right of the image.

Single shot. Fisheye lens.

Moonset with Jupiter

Moonset with Jupiter

A two days old waxing crescent moon setting in the twilight and a last glimpse to Jupiter before it gets too close to the Sun to see it. Jupiter's moons can be seen in the photo even in this wide view. Check Jupiter's Moons in the large version.

Single shot at 135mm.

Orion's Belt Setting

Orion's Belt Setting

An experiment with a Tilt-Shift lens in astrophotography. Taken under a full Moon the scene looks like daytime but the Orion Belt and M42 the great Orion nebula are setting on the left of the photo.
